How much does an abortion cost?
Early Medical Abortion
If you are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, or are eligible for funded health services in New Zealand, an early medical abortion is free. At The Women’s Clinic, we offer two early medical abortion (EMA) options.
Telemed Medical Abortion (EMA) – This service is available nationwide in NZ. You can either choose to have your abortion pack sent to you in the post or pick up your pills from your local pharmacy.
In-Clinic Medical Abortion – If you live within Mid-Central, Whanganui, or Southland, you can choose to have an early medical abortion at one of our clinics.

Surgical Abortion
If you live with Mid-Central, Whanganui, or Southland and are eligible for funded health services in New Zealand, then the Surgical Abortion service is free.
