Can I choose my preferred Auckland clinic?
Yes. You can indicate your preferred location when requesting an appointment. Availability may vary, so our team may also discuss alternative nearby clinics.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
You can contact The Women’s Clinic directly to request an appointment. We will advise you if further medical information is needed.
Can I book an appointment on a Saturday?
Selected Saturday clinic appointments may be available at Shorecare Smales Farm in Takapuna. Availability will be confirmed by our team.
Can I have my Mirena or Copper IUD replaced?
Yes. Mirena and Copper IUD fitting and replacement appointments are available at our selected Auckland clinic locations.
How do I know which contraception is right for me?
Your clinician will consider your health, periods, preferences, previous contraception experiences and future pregnancy plans. They will explain the benefits and possible side effects before you decide.
Does an IUD protect against STIs?
No. Long-acting contraception does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Condoms can help provide STI protection.
